Luke 9:23 Jesus said ” If any man will come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.” 

What cross are we to pick up daily? Since Jesus did it all for us , What could he possibly be telling us to do? The cross is known as a symbol of suffering ad shame. Jesus is telling everyone to remember what was done for us by doing the same daily. We must put to death those things which so easily trip us. (Heb 12:1-2) These are all accumulated into Lust of the eyes, Lust of the flesh, and the pride of life. (I John 2:15-17) The cross should remind us that Jesus dies for our sins. He freed us from it all to walk in liberty.  We carry our cross daily in remembrance that denying ourselves honors our Savior.
